The Vermont Auto Enthusiasts signature annual event is the Vermont Antique and Classic Car Meet. This year’s 65th annual Show will once again be held at Farr’s Field 2 miles west of Waterbury on US Rt. 2. Held each year on the second weekend in August – the 2022 dates are Friday the 12th through Sunday the 14th.
The PA system announces the parade will begin in 20 minutes. A gentleman walks out of the flea market with a rusty, wood -spoke wheel under his arm. He says he has been looking for this wheel for five years! He is about as happy as can be. And did you see that 12-year-old just crank start that 1910 Sears High Wheeler? A door slams shut with a “thud” instead of a “grrr,k,k” like our modern cars! That “thud” came from a 1919 Franklin. And the smells from the food trucks.
. . . unbelievable! Please go and get that old vehicle of yours fired up and tune it a bit. You have places to go and folks to see at the biggest car show in New England. Do you want to really cap off the show with a good feeling? Contact the show chairmen, Duane Leach (dmleachs@gmail.com) or Bob Chase (rccwrn@stoweaccess.com) and ask if they have a job for you. Even if they have only a tiny task to be done, being a part of the show will be your main memory of this 2022 event. You will meet some of the nicest people in the world, while working the show and having the time of their lives!
